Vantage Point Community operates a foodbank program in multiple locations around Melbourne. Our foodbanks give access to groceries, fresh food and vegetables, and frozen meals for people experiencing food insecurity, and provide opportunities for vulnerable groups and for those experiencing isolation for social cohesion and community participation.

In addition to the food bank programs Vantage Point Community facilitates across our three locations around Melbourne, we are also motivated to serve the community by way of:

WHAT WE DO

We are committed to empowering our community in 3 key areas. Our heart is to support people where they're at & to help them see life differently.

Disability Engagement for Employment Pathways
We employ 3 people with disabilities, who work in our distribution centre and office on supervised & self-directed tasks. Our volunteers & staff value their contributions as they gain experience & develop job-ready skills.
Social Inclusion & Participation
Our Foodbanks offer regular social gatherings where participants connect over a meal, coffee, and cake. We also provide opportunities for over 100 volunteers to get involved.
Supporting Marginalised Women

Through our foodbank program, we aim to empower women who may be facing disadvantage, social isolation, or are suffering from wellbeing issues.

COOKING CLASS

Simple healthy eating

Each month at our Tuesday night gatherings, we host a healthy cooking class with a guest chef who shows us how to make an easy, healthy recipe. Then, we all enjoy a community meal based on the recipe we just learned. Check out all the recipes here

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Our West Campus features a thriving community garden. Since the start of the year, the garden has yielded an impressive 55 crates - showing the dedication and teamwork of our community. This space isn’t just about gardening; it’s a place for learning, sharing, and fostering a sense of community.

SENSORY ROOM

Located at our East Campus, the sensory room is a specially designed room which combines a range of stimuli to help children and young people with disabilities develop and engage their senses. These include lights, colours, and sensory soft play objects, all within a safe environment that allows the person using it to explore and interact without risk.
